Before this I had written two e-books, one aimed at writers and one aimed at the dating niche market. Both of them were doing pretty well. They weren't setting the world alight but I was making money from home writing - which is what I loved most. My passion has always been writing and all of a sudden I was making a living from it. I placed one small advert in an ezine which directed people to the web site. As it was just before Christmas 2005 I didn't really expect any response but I was an impatient bugger back then and just wanted to get started.

What happened next came as quite a shock....

I first tried this out two years ago

I woke up on new years day with a bloomin' great big hangover. I'd been so busy over Christmas I hadn't checked my emails. I fired up my PC and saw something that I hadn't seen before...

...receipts from paypal from my new "shovel seller" site. My hangover got better pretty quickly I can tell you.

One day, purely by accident, I came across a web site selling ready made web sites. Just check out the price some of these web sites are going for...

I realised just how much money could be made from the 'virtual property' game by selling simple unique newly created AND newly renovated websites. This was the new 'property boom'. But I needed to do something different to what I'd been doing before. Something which would enable me to create one of these web sites and sell them for huge profits. Quickly.

Then one day it came to me. For a year and a half I'd been aware of a little known publishing secret called the public domain. The public domain describes works that are copyright free.
